1. What typical steps are taken to convert a house into a HomeRoom location ? +

2. How do you make sure your properties are leased quickly? +

We have a dedicated leasing team that works to fill vacancies as soon as they are ready. We price units based on the local market and typically fill an entire house for the first time within 45 days.

3. What can I do to help expedite the leasing process? +

Professional photos, a matterport and/or a video walk through help give the tenants an idea of where they will be living.

4. Where do you advertise rentals? +

We advertise rooms on over 50+ rental listings websites, including Zillow, Apartments.com, Facebook Marketplace, Zumper, Craigslist, Roomster, and more.

5. How are emergency maintenance calls handled for tenants? +

They can submit a maintenance request through the app or call 24/7 and our staff will act on it right away. For owners choosing to do their own maintenance the tickets are sent directly to the owner.

6. What is your screening process for prospective tenants? +

  • Our requirements include a 600+ credit score, clean background, single occupancy, and we do not allow pets
  • HomeRoom run’s background, credit, and eviction reports for all residents.
  • HomeRoom Leasing Specialists vet roommates via a call and the existing roommates also meet the roommate prior to move in.

7. Are there house rules? +

Yes. Each house sets their own rules, but here are some ground rules that we expect Members to follow:

  • No firearms or weapons in the house.
  • No drugs or smoking in the house.
  • Roommates are required to clean up after themselves.
  • In general, we expect members to be respectful of their housemates, communicate often, and to treat others as they would like to be treated.
